Rob is a former Division III basketball player and has a Bachelor’s in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland – College Park.  His passion is human movement, specifically improving movement dysfunction.

How had CrossFit impacted your life?

CrossFit opened my eyes to the power of functional movements and thinking outside the box.  I found CrossFit as a means to rehabilitate my knee from 5 different knee surgeries.  Three months after starting CrossFit my knee was pain free and stronger than it had been since my first knee surgery 2 years before, despite spending hours and hours doing traditional physical therapy.  CrossFit taught me to question everything and keep a fluid philosophy towards health, fitness, and life.

What’s your favorite and least favorite workout?

Favorite workout – Anything with double unders and snatches.

Least favorite workout – “Cindy”.

What do you do besides CrossFit?

Play pick-up basketball and football.  Read.

Advice for Athletes New to CrossFit

Patience!  Take your time in the beginning to learn the movements and a whole world of possibilities will open up to you.
