As we move deeper into the hear of Summer, we need to start paying more attention to our hydration strategies. So here are a couple things to think about as the weather heats up:
- Drink a lot of water! On a daily basis, you should be drinking at least half your body weight in oz. (ex: 200 lb male should be drinking 100 oz).
- For every hour of working out, you need to add at least 16 oz to the number above.
- Make sure you are getting enough electrolytes! The more you sweat and drink water, the more electrolytes you lose. Replenish with an electrolyte source such as Salt Stick (my favorite) or Nuun. No Gatorade!
