Sport and Fitness background? I played lacrosse from 3rd grade through College. I also Muay Thai boxed competitively and did some local combatives competitions in the Army. I have also done several 10k’s, adventure races and half marathon.
Any new sports you would like to try? Highland Games and possibly Rugby
How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? I was introducted to it to condition for muay thai fights.
Take us back to your first WOD… what was it, and how did it feel? It was a basic KBswing, lunges, run and push press metcon and it destroyed me.
What changes have you noticed since starting CrossFit? I’ve gone through peaks and valleys. Overall, my work capacity and mental endurance is much stronger than it was before and I enjoy the challenges of fighting through the long Hero WODs more than the shorted ones.
What’s your favorite CrossFit/CFDR experience or memory? Passing 500 on my deadlift and being able to coach again.
Advice for a beginner? Everyone has a starting point so be patient. Strength and skills both take time, consistency and effort to achieve and no one in here is necessarily “better” than you… they have just been doing it longer.
Personal Goals? Improve my bodyweight movements, running capabilities (next to nothing- so i can only go up!) and lose some weight before my wedding.
Hobbies, interests, activities outside of CrossFit? Table tennis, cooking, competitive eating, securing the homeland.
