You have heard it before from the coaches. Be aggressive! Or you may have heard:

  • Jump it up!
  • Explode
  • Get Under Quickly
  • Don’t Pull

These are all cues trying to remind you to be aggressive! This is especially important for the more dynamic Olympic lifts. In honor of snatch month here are two videos. Can you see the difference between the person who is aggressive and jumping it up and the one who is not? Watch them both at the same time and you will see what I mean. Watch the difference in time from hitting the point of contact (right underneath the belly button) and getting it overhead. Who’s arms get tired quicker?
