Started CrossFitting? January 2011
Favorite WOD? It’s scary, but I’ve liked every version and combination of workout I’ve done so
Least Fav WOD? Anything with Kettle Ball Swings and Double Unders.
Sport and Fitness background? I used to occasionally run in college.
How did you get exposed to CrossFit? My friend at work got my boyfriend into CFDR and one
day they finally convinced me to come to a Saturday class. I was so nervous but by the end of
class I was hooked.
Tell us about your first WOD? My first WOD introduced me to Burpees and I couldn’t move for
about a week. Then I started 101 classes and I learned what real pain was!!!
What changes have you noticed since starting CrossFit? I have gotten a lot stronger. I am really surprised how quickly my upper body strength has grown. I have little baby guns!!!
What’s your favorite CrossFit/CFDR experience or memory? Wow, this is a tough questions it’s
hard to pick one. Every class is fun for different reasons. I guess the most fun I have is working
out with everyone. It’s like no matter your abilities or how you have to scale the workout you are
all in the same boat and that motivates me. And during the cool down everyone talks about how
they did and congratulates each other. It’s the comradery that keeps me coming back.
Advice for a beginner? Just keep going to class. No matter how nervous or intimidated you
might get watching everyone else remember that you will get better. Everyone has to start
somewhere and remember that everyone started out sucking.
Hobbies, interests, activities outside of CrossFit? Nothing out of the ordinary, I’m a pretty
average 20 something. I work a lot and CrossFit has taken up my nights so on the weekends I
like to hang out with friends, go shopping, out to eat and hiking when it gets warm.
